The Horse Box Project

Challenge

Having spotted an opportunity in the market, Oakland Horse Boxes wanted to offer extendable living quarters in horse boxes and caravanets, whilst retaining the practicality of the original trailer design.

Solution

With a simple design brief, Simmatic took the idea away and within 2 weeks the control gear was compactly presented on a neatly constructed back plate and the actuators ready to be installed by the Horse Box specialists.

  • Initial Internal Cylinder Installation - The pneumatic tubes were later cut accurately to length but the functionality of the equipment was quickly proved on this working prototype horse box.
  • Extended Side - The side can be seen elevated out providing the extra internal space.

  • External Cylinder Installation - With the guides mounted either end the protruding rod centrally mounted, created the movement.
